Position Description
Responsible for all aspects of livestock, facility swine personnel, maintenance, and equipment that are integral to the operation of the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
An essential function of the position includes but is not limited to the following.
· Intimate knowledge and use of the company Livestock sort code system.
· Closely monitor and facilitate all sorting and re-sorting.
· Be aware of and actively promote the concept of addressing processor (customer) needs and maximizing value and service to the producer (supplier).
· Closely monitor livestock handling practices.
· Closely monitor all scaling, tagging, and tattooing.
· Closely monitor outgoing transportation to reduce the stress of animals while assuring animals are comfortable and will reach their destination in a sound manner.
· Training all facility swine personnel in the operation of a Parks Livestock facility: sorting, cleaning, unloading, loading, load sheets, outgoing load management, groundskeeping, equipment maintenance, and overall facility management.
· Purchasing and Selling animals to and from customers
· Knowledge of pricing animals/quality
Job Specifications
· Ability to communicate openly, honestly, and regularly with the Regional Manager on various issues.
· Ability to communicate openly and honestly job responsibilities and performance expectations to the facility swine personnel.
· Continual training for self with the transfer of knowledge to others.
· Detail oriented in thinking, planning, and work habits.
· Needs to possess a high level of leadership skills to:
Provide competent oversight of operations.
Set high standards for the process.
