We are seeking a Director of Homeless Services. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Director of Homeless Services manages the Homeless Services Department staff, interns, etc., and provides them guidance on programmatic details. The Director is the Central Illinois Continuum of Care (CoC) Lead Staff coordinating an 11 county CoC. The Director also supervises the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) lead for the CoC. This is a salaried grant funded position. Continued employment and salary are dependent upon continued grant funds.

 

• Knowledge of the geographic area or ability to gain the knowledge of the community and services we provide.
• Prefer candidates with experience with the CoC system and/or HUD. Experience with HMIS data systems is also preferred.
• Grant writing and grant administration experience highly desirable. A large portion of time is spent on grant administration.
• Ability to meet and work effectively with groups and individuals from diverse economic, ethnic, ability, age and racial background.
• Ability to control situation when a client is in active crisis.
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other professionals to reach a common goal.
• Previous background in serving high risk population with mental illness and/or substance abuse.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
